This WNMG series 80° trigon indexable insert comes in WNMG080404-DF and WNMG080408-DF models with DF chipbreaker, matched with premium KM242Z PVD-coated carbide grade. It is specially engineered for semi-roughing to semi-finishing external turning of 316 austenitic stainless steel.

The KM242Z grade features advanced nano-composite PVD coating with outstanding anti-adhesion and abrasion resistance, effectively suppressing built-up edge and crater wear in 316 stainless steel machining. The optimized DF chipbreaker delivers stable chip breaking and smooth evacuation across broad cutting parameters.

Its double-sided trigon structure provides 6 usable cutting edges per insert, significantly boosting cost efficiency for high-volume production. Fully interchangeable with standard WNMG tool holders, it enables quick indexing and is widely used in valve, chemical, food equipment and marine industries.
